March 1, 2020 - Provided a training for museum docents on empathy and creating safe spaces for trauma at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills, Michigan
Dr. Matthews had the pleasure of being a guest on the "The Angela Moore Show" 910 AM. They discussed symtoms of grief, her research on grief and loss in the African American community, and local resources in the Metro Detroit area.
Dr. Matthews was invited to particpate on the "Being Mortal" screening and panel disscusion, held at Oakland University.
October 2016 - Provided a training on multicultural supervision as part of the Pay-It-Forward Project at the University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan
July 2016 - Provided a training for the peer mentors on emotional intelligence with the Center for Multicultural Initiatives (CMI) at Oakland University
April 2015 -Collaborated with Dr. Thomas Blume and presented on eliminating microaggressions at the 2nd Annual Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Conference at Oakland University
